Mussel & Burger Bar Assistant General Manager
Job Summary & Scope:
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a critical role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day restaurant operations, with a focus on achieving established sales and profit goals. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of company policies, procedures, and performance standards. The AGM will manage the restaurant team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient employee performance, and maintaining a productive and positive work environment. Additionally, the Assistant General Manager will assume full leadership responsibility in the absence of the General Manager, or when serving as the Manager on Duty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee food production, ensuring all operations comply with sanitation and quality standards.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, including recruitment, hiring, training, and continuous development.
• Manage employee performance, addressing disciplinary issues as necessary, and ensuring timely and effective HR processes, including payroll and scheduling.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, ensuring that work areas, equipment, and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and standards.
• Produce timely and accurate operational reports as required by senior management.
• Address and resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner, ensuring an excellent guest experience.
• Monitor and meet performance objectives, including sales, service, and operational targets.
• Maintain high levels of operational efficiency and guest satisfaction while driving revenue growth and managing costs.
Requirements:
• HS Diploma/GED equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a salaried restaurant management position, preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience in managing teams, including staff recruitment, development, and performance management.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and restaurant management software. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Passion for mentoring and developing others, with a commitment to supporting team success.
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and scheduling to optimize restaurant performance.
• A track record of driving sales growth while effectively controlling costs to achieve financial goals.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and a customer-focused mindset.
• Demonstrated financial acumen with experience in managing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
