Job Description
Industrial Reliability Maintenance Specialist (Chemical Manufacturing)

Direct-hire placement through Integrity Trade Services for a chemical manufacturing client in Forest View, IL (minutes from Midway Airport). Start on 2nd shift with a pay range of $28–$32/hour DOE and transition into a comprehensive client benefits package upon hire.

A Day in the Life

Picture your shift starting at 11:00 AM. You pull up CMMS, review scheduled and unscheduled work orders, and walk the floor with safety and 5S at the forefront. A mixer needs vibration-checked; a pump requires seal replacement; and a new gauge needs to be installed on a 3" line before afternoon production. You lock out and tag out, suit up with PPE, and get to work.

Midday, you trace a wiring issue at 460/220/110 VAC, reference a P&ID to confirm flow direction, and commission a newly installed thermocouple. Before clocking out at 7:00 PM, you document completed tasks in CMMS, tidy your area to 5S standards, and prep tools for potential after-hours call-ins.

What You’ll Tackle
  • Execute preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime and dependability.
  • Apply 5S practices to sustain a clean, orderly, and safe shop environment.
  • Work safely in challenging conditions, including dirty or steam-heated areas and outdoors in all weather.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain chemical processing equipment (pumps, mixers, steam systems).
  • Interpret basic blueprints; P&ID familiarity is a plus.
  • Perform basic electrical diagnostics at 460VAC, 220VAC, and 110VAC.
  • Install and maintain piping systems up to 3" and related instrumentation (gauges, transducers, thermocouples).
  • Assist with planning, installation, and commissioning of new equipment, piping, and electrical projects.
  • Record maintenance activities and repairs in CMMS.
  • Balance planned work with urgent, unscheduled priorities.
  • Comply with OSHA and company procedures: LOTO, PPE, hot work, confined space, fall protection, and more.
  • Participate in the rotating after-hours call-in program.
