We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fiberglass Laminator to join our team and play a critical role in the production of our hulls, decks, and small parts.

Job Summary: The Fiberglass Laminator is responsible for the open molding and infusion of fiberglass components used in the construction of our boats. The ideal candidate has a strong background in composite fabrication, a keen eye for detail, and a dedication to producing parts that meet the highest standards of structural integrity and cosmetic quality.

Responsibilities:


Lamination and Layup:

  • Apply resin, fiberglass cloth, woven roving, and core materials (such as foam and coosa) to molds according to laminate schedules.
  • Mix resins, catalysts, and additives to proper ratios, accounting for environmental conditions and working time.
  • Perform hand layup and vacuum infusion processes as required for each part.
  • Properly prepare molds, including waxing and applying release agents.
Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in fiberglass lamination or a related composite fabrication role.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools specific to fiberglass work, including grinders, rollers, and spray adhesive.
  • Strong working knowledge of resins, catalysts, fiberglass materials, and core products.
  • Familiarity with vacuum infusion processes..
  • Ability to read and follow laminate schedules and build specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment that includes exposure to resins, dust, and fumes (proper PPE provided).
