Your impact
- Own end-to-end execution across 1–2 production lines, two slitter lines, plus packaging, shipping, and receiving.
- Hit output, quality, and delivery targets by aligning schedules, staffing, and shift handoffs.
- Coach operators and leads; manage attendance, payroll approvals, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Partner with Maintenance and Quality to triage issues, reduce downtime, and stabilize processes.
- Monitor KPIs—throughput, scrap, quality—and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Champion safety: enforce OSHA, LOTO, PPE standards and build a safety-first culture.
- Complete shift reports and communicate status to leadership for seamless transitions.
- Advance Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and waste-reduction initiatives across the floor.
- Proven leadership in manufacturing—ideally within coil coating, steel, aluminum, or other continuous-process operations.
- Confidence making real-time decisions that protect quality, schedule, and safety.
- Passion for mentoring teams and elevating performance.
- 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, 2-2-3 rotating schedule (Work 2 days, Off 2 days, Work 3 days, then the pattern flips)
- Every other weekend completely off
- $31–36/hour with time-and-a-half after 40 hours each week
- Top-of-range candidates on the standard rotation can earn approximately $88,000+ annually before any additional overtime
- Learn the product mix, key constraints, and critical-to-quality parameters across coating and slitting.
- Stabilize the night shift cadence with clear staffing plans, visual controls, and reliable shift handoffs.
- Stand up 5S in high-traffic zones; cut minor stops and scrap through quick kaizen wins.
- Standardize shift reporting to highlight downtime drivers and escalate issues fast.
- Improved throughput and reduced scrap without compromising quality.
