We're seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Medical Assistant to help lead our clinical team in a fast-paced podiatry practice. This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant who enjoys mentoring others, supporting physicians, and serving as a leader within the office while continuing to provide exceptional patient care.

The Lead Medical Assistant performs all responsibilities of a Medical Assistant while serving as the primary resource for the clinical team. Acting as a liaison between management and staff, this position helps maintain efficient workflows, supports training and development, and fosters a positive, team-oriented environment.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)
  • Serve as the primary resource and point of contact for Medical Assistant staff.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional patient care.
  • Anticipate and plan for physician and clinic needs to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Train and onboard new Medical Assistants and educate staff on new procedures and workflows.
  • Assist with interviewing and hiring Medical Assistant candidates.
  • Support staff scheduling and help ensure appropriate clinic coverage.
  • Oversee medical supply inventory and coordinate ordering as needed.
  • Assist with annual Medical Assistant evaluations and performance reviews.
  • Monitor the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of medical office equipment.
  • Perform all Medical Assistant clinical duties, including assisting physicians with patient care and in-office procedures.
  • Communicate personnel concerns and operational issues to management while providing support and guidance to staff.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Medical Assistant program completion or 3+ years of clinical experience.
  • CMA or RMA certification.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
  • 3 years of healthcare experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of health insurance processes, pre-authorizations, insurance verification, medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD coding preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and assist wherever needed.
  • Strong multitasking, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
  • Technologically savvy; proficient in Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
