Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves evaluating sales order requirements, collaborating with sales teams and customers, and working closely with electrical engineers and drafting teams to produce customer drawings.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and interpret sales order requirements and specifications to configure and develop solutions.
- Collaborate with sales and potentially customers to resolve technical requirements.
- Work with electrical engineers and drafting teams to produce customer drawings.
- Serve as the technical lead on assigned projects.
- Coordinate with internal groups, including assembly, procurement, and field technicians, to resolve startup issues.
- Approve project release to manufacturing.
- Collaborate with assembly and test departments to address issues during build and test phases.
- Participate in project teams to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable designs.
- Provide updates on project status and timelines.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and developing electromechanical equipment.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software, with a preference for SolidWorks.
- Experience with OEM design activities and machine design.
- Familiarity with bill of materials (BOMs).
- Project management skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Product Data Management (PDM).
- Expertise in designing sheet metal products.
- Knowledge of electrical testing.
- Customer interaction experience.
Work Environment
The role is based in an office environment attached to a manufacturing floor. Expect to spend 70% of the time at a desk and 30% on the manufacturing floor. You'll be part of a growing team of over 10 engineers, working on highly customizable products. This position offers the chance to contribute to a company with a new product in high demand and increased sales.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
