The Assembler performs a variety of assembly and hand operations involved in the manufacturing of small-part medical devices. This role includes operating and tending tools and equipment, loading and unloading components into fixtures, performing manual operations such as deburring, buffing, and mating components, and conducting visual in-process inspections. The Assembler maintains product quality through careful inspection using measuring devices, gauges, and microscopes, and completes required production and quality control documentation to meet established standards. The position also involves adjusting equipment settings and tools to maintain proper parameters, providing feedback to team members and leadership, and ensuring a clean and safe work area while consistently following standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of assembly and hand operations related to the manufacturing of small-part medical devices, including deburring, buffing, and mating components.
  • Tend and operate various assembly tools and equipment, ensuring safe and effective use in accordance with established procedures.
  • Load and unload components into fixtures and assembly equipment as required by the production process.
  • Conduct visual in-process inspections of parts and assemblies to identify defects or inconsistencies.
  • Inspect parts during assembly using measuring devices, gauges, and microscopes to verify conformance to specifications and maintain manufacturing consistency.
  • Complete and maintain accurate production and quality control records and logs, both written and electronic, in line with production standards.
  • Change settings on assembly equipment and adjust tools during production to maintain proper parameters, accuracy, and adherence to specifications.
  • Follow and retain a variety of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for different assembly processes and apply them consistently.
  • Provide regular feedback to co-workers, supervisors, and management to support efficient and effective assembly operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and tools as necessary.
  • Handle products and components carefully to prevent damage and ensure quality throughout the assembly process.
  • Support packing and production activities as needed to meet schedule and output requirements.
  • Use computer systems to enter, update, and maintain documentation related to production and quality.
  • Troubleshoot basic product and process issues within the scope of the role and escalate concerns when necessary.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to perform detailed assembly and hand operations on small medical device components.
  • Experience with production, packing, and inspection activities in a manufacturing environment (three months of previous manufacturing assembly experience preferred).
  • Capability to use measuring devices, gauges, and microscopes for inspection and quality verification.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent quality standards.
  • Ability to retain and follow multiple standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various assembly processes.
  • Competence in completing accurate and timely documentation, both written and on the computer.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for products and processes within an assembly environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in smaller assembly teams and adapt to different work areas based on production needs.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in medical device assembly or small-part manufacturing is beneficial.
  • Comfort working with fine, detailed components in a clean room environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and provide constructive feedback to co-workers and leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain clean work areas and manage documentation.
  • Willingness to rotate between different products and assembly processes depending on the production schedule.

Assemblers work in smaller teams and may rotate between different areas depending on current production needs and schedules, as not all products are manufactured every day. The environment emphasizes precision, cleanliness, and adherence to procedures. The general dress code allows jeans and t-shirts, provided clothing is not ripped, with additional clean room attire required in designated areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
