Job Title: Electrical Technician

Job Description

The Electrical Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems on trucks, working with both house wiring and DC wiring. This role combines hands-on electrical and electro-mechanical work with direct customer interaction, providing support before, during, and after training events and serving as a key liaison between customers and internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, and configure electrical systems on trucks, including both house wiring and DC wiring.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of electrical and electro-mechanical systems on trucks and related equipment.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to complete installations and repairs accurately.
  • Assemble, test, and maintain electromechanical components and systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Provide customer service before, during, and after training events, acting as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments.
  • Support field service activities, including on-site installation, maintenance, and repair as needed.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving AC/DC circuits, electronics, and mechanical components.
  • Use pneumatic and electrical schematics to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
  • Document work performed, including repairs, installations, and modifications, in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and cross-training across departments.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company procedures, and applicable codes.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of electrical experience working with DC wiring.
  • At least 3 years of electro-mechanical experience in a hands-on environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience with AC/DC systems and circuits.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with schematics, pneumatics, and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues.
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly, installation, and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Strong field service skills, including on-site diagnostics and customer support.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams in a professional manner.
  • Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or a closely related discipline.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working on truck electrical systems or similar mobile equipment.
  • Experience in both house wiring and DC wiring applications.
  • Comfort working in customer-facing roles, including during training events.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and safety.
  • Interest in cross-training and learning new technologies and systems.

Work Environment

This is a highly hands-on, customer-facing role, working directly with end users in a field and shop environment. The position involves regular interaction with customers during training events and service activities, requiring a professional and service-oriented approach. The organization emphasizes a strong, supportive culture that encourages growth, development, and cross-training across departments. Team members have access to an on-site workout facility, including trainers who visit on designated days, supporting health and wellness. The role involves working with electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems on trucks and related equipment, using tools, schematics, and diagnostic instruments in a practical, technical setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
