Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician – 2nd/3rd Shift
Job Description
This role combines advanced mechanical expertise with strong electrical and electronic skills to operate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain unmanned, automated, robotic, and electromechanical equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Electro-Mechanical Technician supports continuous production by diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of thermoforming and extrusion equipment on 3rd shift.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to support accurate troubleshooting and repairs.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct complex electrical and mechanical problems on production and support equipment.
- Perform all prescribed preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems.
- Actively participate in company safety programs, including safety inspections, safety observations, and JSA risk assessments as required.
- Repair and troubleshoot thermoforming and extrusion equipment used in the manufacturing process.
- Fulfill electrician or mechanical duties as a member of Fire Brigade and HazMat teams, as assigned.
- Operate all related shop equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain neat, accurate, and organized documentation, including work orders, and enter data into SAP and other maintenance systems.
- Operate forklifts and yard equipment to support plant operations and emergencies when needed.
- Deliver work that meets high standards of craftsmanship, quality, proficiency, efficiency, and material utilization.
- Conduct food safety and food defense self-inspections and promptly report any deficiencies.
- Collaborate with team members and demonstrate leadership on the floor when coordinating maintenance tasks or supporting production.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision to support maintenance and production goals.
Essential Skills
- At least 5–7 years of hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to diagnose complex issues on automated and electromechanical equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a maintenance or industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience performing preventive and reactive maintenance in a manufacturing facility.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Two-year associate degree in a relevant technical field or completion of a licensed apprenticeship program.
- At least ten (10) years of industrial experience in an electrical and mechanical environment is preferred.
- Experience working with thermoforming and extrusion equipment in a plastics or similar manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar computerized maintenance management systems for work order entry and documentation.
- Experience in food-related manufacturing environments, including awareness of food safety and food defense practices.
- Experience working on Fire Brigade or HazMat teams in an industrial setting.
This is a Permanent position based out of READING, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
