Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help develop, improve, and maintain safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
This position will play an important role in continuous improvement, new product launches, tooling and equipment implementation, quality improvement, and cost reduction within a metal stamping and fabrication environment.
Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
Analyze production methods and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving methodologies.
Design and implement tooling, fixtures, work-holding devices, and other process improvements.
Evaluate manufacturing equipment and recommend upgrades, modifications, or replacements.
Support new product introduction, including process development, PFMEA, control plans, and production readiness.
Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Partner with Quality, Production, Maintenance, Tooling, and Supply Chain teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
Conduct time studies, capacity analyses, and workflow optimization projects.
Manage capital equipment projects from justification and installation through validation and employee training.
Maintain engineering records, drawings, process documentation, and project reports.
Support customer and internal audits and help ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
Experience in metal stamping, fabrication, assembly, or other discrete manufacturing environments preferred.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.
Experience with CAD software and manufacturing process design.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
Familiarity with robotics and industrial automation.
Experience with PLC programming and systems such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar.
Familiarity with machine vision systems, including Cognex, Keyence, or similar technologies.
Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP, root cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
