The Low Voltage Superintendent leads and oversees low voltage projects, with a balanced mix of field supervision and administrative responsibilities. This role manages project staff through recruiting, hiring, training, and ongoing leadership, while ensuring projects are completed profitably, on schedule, and in full compliance with budget and quality standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, drives process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, and actively promotes workplace safety. The position involves hands-on involvement with structured cabling, prefabrication, security, audio/visual systems, and fiber, as well as thorough project documentation, reporting, and compliance tracking.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, and manage project staff to support low voltage installations and related work.
  • Provide daily leadership and supervision to field crews, maintaining an approximate 50/50 balance between field presence and administrative duties.
  • Oversee job execution from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project profitability and budget compliance, making adjustments as needed to meet financial targets.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance inspections on low voltage systems, structured cabling, prefabrication work, security, A/V, and fiber installations.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for customers, addressing questions, resolving issues, and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Manage and maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, schedules, budgets, and compliance records.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and standardize best practices across project sites.
  • Promote and enforce workplace safety standards, ensuring tools, equipment, and company vehicles are used and maintained properly.
  • Coordinate and participate in training activities, including traveling to other sites to train teams and teach established methods and procedures.
  • Review and interpret blueprints and construction documents to guide installation work and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Perform and oversee quality checks on telecommunication and low voltage systems to verify proper installation and performance.
  • Support prefabrication work for data center sites, setting expectations and standards for quality and productivity.
  • Ensure all project records, including documentation related to low voltage wiring, cabling, and fiber optic systems, are completed accurately and submitted on time.
Essential Skills
  • Proven leadership experience managing and leading field crews in a construction or low voltage environment.
  • Hands-on experience with low voltage systems, including structured cabling, security, A/V, and fiber installations.
  • Practical experience working with fiber optic cable and fiber optic systems.
  • Strong background in low voltage wiring and low voltage systems in a construction or telecommunication setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to train, teach, and instruct others effectively in technical and field procedures.
  • Experience with project documentation, including reporting, compliance tracking, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to travel to various sites to train teams and support project execution as needed.
  • Experience performing quality checks on low voltage and telecommunication systems.
  • Solid understanding of operations in a construction or data center-focused environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with CAT5 and other structured cabling standards.
  • background in electronic assembly related to low voltage or telecommunication systems.
  • Familiarity with telecommunication systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience in prefabrication work for data center projects or similar large-scale environments.
  • Comfort working in large, complex facilities such as data centers.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, documentation requirements, and training activities.
  • Clear communication skills to lead crews, train staff, and serve as a primary point of contact for customers.
  • Ability to adapt to different job sites and project requirements while maintaining consistent quality and safety standards.

Work Environment

The role is based primarily on active project sites, including large-scale data center environments, where you will split your time between field supervision and office or administrative tasks. You will work with a variety of low voltage technologies such as structured cabling (including CAT5), fiber optic systems, security and A/V installations, and telecommunication infrastructure. The environment involves collaboration with construction teams and technical staff, adherence to safety protocols, and use of company tools, equipment, and vehicles. Travel to other sites is occasionally required for training and project support. Attire is typically aligned with a professional construction and field setting, with appropriate safety gear used as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
