Job Description
Join a short-term warehouse project supporting the consolidation of multiple facilities into a single building in Lenexa, KS. In this role, you handle material, load and unload parts and supplies, and support general warehouse operations over the course of an anticipated three-week assignment. You work as a loader/unloader and on-foot laborer to help move inventory efficiently and safely to the new location.
Responsibilities- Load and unload parts, supplies, and materials from storage areas, pallets, and transport vehicles.
- Perform general labor tasks, including moving, stacking, and organizing inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Handle materials safely using pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as directed.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including staging, sorting, and preparing items for transfer to the new building.
- Use RF scanners to track, pick, and verify inventory as items are packed and moved.
- Support order picking and warehouse inventory processes to ensure accurate counts and locations.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and reach trucks if qualified and authorized.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds repeatedly during the shift while maintaining safe lifting practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety guidelines within the warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet daily project goals and timelines.
- Previous warehouse labor experience with exposure to material handling and general warehouse operations.
- Ability to perform unloading and loading tasks safely and efficiently.
- Experience with general labor duties such as moving, organizing, and stacking inventory.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse setting.
- Ability to use RF scanners for inventory tracking and order picking.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds throughout the workday.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic to support project completion.
- Comfort working on foot for extended periods in a warehouse environment.
- Experience using pallet jacks to move materials and pallets.
- Background in warehouse inventory control and order picking.
- Experience operating sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and reach trucks.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving documentation and basic inventory procedures.
- Ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities during a fast-paced project.

Work EnvironmentYou work in warehouse buildings in Lenexa, KS, supporting a consolidation project over an expected three-week period. The role is primarily on your feet and involves frequent heavy lifting, loading, and unloading of materials. You may use equipment such as pallet jacks, RF scanners, sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and reach trucks, depending on qualifications and assignment. The standard schedule runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., providing full daytime shifts in an active, industrial environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Lenexa, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
