Job Description

This role focuses on performing preventative maintenance, routine service, and emergency repairs on plant equipment and structures in a modern manufacturing facility. A significant portion of the work involves servicing and repairing robotic welders, primarily Fanuc robots, along with chillers, process water systems, air compressors, conveyors, and other production and facility systems. The position requires a multi-crafted maintenance professional with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who can work closely with the supervisor to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, robotic welders, and plant infrastructure to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on a wide range of equipment, including chillers, motor systems, process water systems, air compressors, and conveyors.
  • Service and repair robotic welding systems, with a focus on Fanuc robots, including piece changes and general upkeep.
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC drives to ensure proper operation and reliability of equipment.
  • Work extensively with pneumatics and hydraulics, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining pneumatic systems that are a major part of the job.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to perform accurate wiring, installation, and repair tasks.
  • Install, modify, and bend electrical conduit as needed to support equipment changes and facility projects.
  • Conduct routine and emergency repairs on plant structures and facility systems to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform conveyor maintenance and repairs to support continuous production flow.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to prioritize work orders, coordinate repairs, and support production needs.
  • Complete documentation related to maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance records and repair logs.
  • Support facility projects and improvements as needed, contributing mechanical and electrical expertise.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and best practices while working with electrical systems, robotics, and mechanical equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair AC and DC drives.
  • Strong experience with heavy industrial electrical work, including wiring and conduit installation.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatics, including troubleshooting and maintenance of pneumatic systems.
  • Experience working with hydraulics in a maintenance setting.
  • Capability to bend and install electrical conduit safely and accurately.
  • Comfort working with and maintaining robotic systems, with robotic welding experience considered highly valuable.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on a variety of industrial equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to emergency repair situations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of industrial maintenance experience with robotics, PLC, electrical, and mechanical responsibilities may qualify for Journeyman-level consideration.
  • Robotics experience, particularly with Fanuc robotic welding systems, is a major plus but not strictly required, as training will be provided.
  • Maintenance-related degree or formal technical education is preferred.
  • Interest in ongoing training and professional development in robotics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with supervisors and peers.

Work Environment

The role is based in a newer, climate-controlled manufacturing facility built in 2016 that is notably clean for the industry, supported by the absence of large presses that typically contribute to dirt and noise. The environment is team-oriented, with maintenance professionals working collaboratively to support over 300 robots and a variety of modern equipment and systems. The standard shift for this position runs from approximately 2:30 p.m. to 10:40 p.m., Monday through Friday, with operations continuing through the summer instead of shutting down in July and a planned shutdown during the last week of the year. Technicians have access to up-to-date tools and equipment, including an annual tool allowance, and work in a setting designed for comfort, safety, and continuous learning

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
