Project Manager
Job Description
This role oversees complex projects within a manufacturing and engineering environment, coordinating closely with internal teams and clients to ensure successful delivery of short- and long-term project goals. The Project Manager develops comprehensive project plans, manages budgets and timelines, drives process improvements, and provides clear leadership and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end project management activities from initial planning through execution and completion.
- Collaborate directly with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements for each project.
- Delegate project tasks effectively and work closely with Engineering and Production teams on a regular basis to ensure alignment and progress.
- Track project performance and analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals using appropriate tools and metrics.
- Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on ongoing financial analysis and performance data.
- Develop comprehensive project plans and documentation to be shared with clients and internal staff members.
- Use and continually develop leadership skills to guide project teams, resolve issues, and maintain accountability.
- Lead a weekly Critical Jobs follow-up meeting to review key projects, identify risks, and drive timely resolutions.
- Coordinate process improvement initiatives and support inventory control efforts related to project activities.
- Maintain excellent client-facing communication, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and addressing concerns promptly.
- Ensure effective use of project management and collaboration tools to support scheduling, resource allocation, and time management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and implement best practices in project execution and manufacturing processes.
- 5–10 years of experience in project management, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering-focused environment.
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination and project engineering.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and other collaboration or time management tools.
- Experience with process improvement and inventory control within a project setting.
- Advanced time management and analytical skills to manage multiple priorities and evaluate project performance.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking project metrics.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with Jobscope is a plus.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to manage high-profile customers professionally and effectively.
- Proven ability to delegate tasks, lead cross-functional teams, and drive projects to successful completion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning, documentation, and follow-through.
- Engineering experience is a plus, particularly in environments that interface closely with production and manufacturing.
- Experience as a Project Engineer or in engineering-related project roles is beneficial.
- SolidWorks experience is a plus, especially for projects involving engineering design or technical documentation.
- Background in manufacturing operations or industrial environments is advantageous.
- Comfort working with ERP platforms and integrating project workflows with operational systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
This position is based onsite in Valley City within a manufacturing and engineering-focused facility. The work environment involves regular collaboration with Engineering and Production teams, participation in weekly critical job follow-up meetings, and hands-on involvement with project planning and execution. Standard office technology and software tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems are used routinely to manage schedules, resources, and performance metrics. The role requires a professional presence when interacting with high-profile customers and internal stakeholders, with an emphasis on clear communication, reliability, and accountability in a fast-paced, project-driven setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Valley City, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
