Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy industrial machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will use your mechanical expertise to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently, working hands-on with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems while supporting both breakdown and preventive maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on heavy industrial machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Diagnose and repair pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, and related components.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, hoses, and actuators.
- Service, rebuild, and align gearboxes and mechanical drive systems to maintain optimal performance.
- Perform precision mechanical work, including tear-downs and rebuilds of motors and complex equipment assemblies.
- Support breakdown maintenance by responding quickly to equipment failures and implementing effective repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Use large hand tools and wrenches weighing up to 50 pounds safely and effectively.
- Work in dirty, tight, and hot environments that are non-climate controlled while following safety procedures.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and equipment reliability in all maintenance activities.
- Inspect and service additional machinery such as conveyors, formers, furnaces, die machines, and general manufacturing and material handling equipment.
- Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate equipment status to production and maintenance teams.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to perform troubleshooting and repair on heavy industrial machinery.
- Hands-on experience with diagnosing and repairing pneumatic systems.
- Hands-on experience with diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems.
- Ability to service and rebuild gearboxes and mechanical drive systems.
- Proficiency in performing precision mechanical work, including tear-downs and rebuilds of motors and equipment.
- Capability to support both breakdown maintenance and preventive maintenance activities.
- Comfort working in dirty, tight, and hot environments that are non-climate controlled.
- Ability to safely use large hand tools and wrenches weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and equipment reliability.
- Equivalent degree or technical schooling in a relevant field or comparable education and training.
- Experience working with additional machinery such as conveyors, formers, furnaces, die machines, and general manufacturing and material handling equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
- Experience in preventive maintenance programs and reliability-focused maintenance practices.
- Exposure to Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in leadership development or leading maintenance tasks and small projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with production, maintenance, and safety teams.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing setting with regular exposure to heat, grease, oil, and tight spaces. You will frequently handle large tools and equipment and work around conveyors, formers, furnaces, die machines, and other general manufacturing and material handling equipment. The role follows a 1st shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with overtime required as business needs demand.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Frankfort, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
