Job Description
The Inventory Clerk maintains accurate inventory records and supports warehouse operations by tracking inventory levels, conducting cycle counts, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with shipping and receiving activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring that materials are properly received, stored, and documented in the inventory management system, contributing to efficient and reliable distribution processes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the company’s inventory management system.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to verify stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely and thorough manner.
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, overages, and damaged materials.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Process inventory transactions including transfers, adjustments, returns, and replenishments.
- Organize and maintain inventory storage locations to promote efficiency and safety.
- Assist with physical inventory audits and annual inventory counts.
- Generate inventory reports and communicate inventory status to supervisors and management.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse, production, purchasing, and shipping teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures while performing daily tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and inventory operations.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping within an inventory management system.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience performing cycle counts and monitoring inventory levels.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and documentation.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment when certified, including forklift, pallet jack, and RF scanner.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
- Commitment to following established safety policies and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with inventory in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience in pharmaceutical warehouse operations is beneficial.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with warehouse, production, purchasing, and shipping teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills for investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and perform additional duties as needed.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment, with operations specifically tied to a pharmaceutical warehouse setting. You may be exposed to varying temperatures and moving equipment throughout the workday. The position involves regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting, including lifting items up to 50 pounds. Warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners may be used when appropriately certified. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on business needs, and you will follow established safety procedures and guidelines while working in this active, fast-paced environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Windsor, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
