Temporary Materials Manager

Fort Collins, CO (On-Site)
Duration: Approximately 8 Weeks
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay Range: $105,000 - $130,000 annually (equivalent hourly rate based on assignment duration)

Adecco is currently seeking an experienced Temporary Materials Manager for our client in Fort Collins, CO. This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose-driven organization focused on environmental monitoring, water management, weather intelligence, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience in materials management, warehouse operations, inventory control, and manufacturing support.

Position Summary

The Materials Manager will lead all material flow activities across the manufacturing facility, ensuring the right materials are available at the right place and time to support production and customer demand. This role is responsible for overseeing receiving, warehousing, inventory control, material replenishment, shipping, logistics, and material handling functions while driving operational efficiency and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaterials Management & Inventory Control
  • Lead all material movement activities from receiving through production consumption and customer shipment.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counting, transaction management, and inventory controls.

  • Oversee physical inventories, inventory reconciliation, and inventory accuracy initiatives.

  • Develop and sustain effective inventory management practices that support operational goals and working capital objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on inventory reduction, material flow, and waste elimination.

Warehouse Operations
  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, staging, replenishment, and shipping.

  • Optimize warehouse layout, storage utilization, and material flow processes.

  • Establish and maintain standard work practices and operational metrics.

  • Ensure warehouse operations support production schedules while maintaining safety and inventory accuracy.

Production Material Replenishment
  • Oversee point-of-use material delivery and replenishment for manufacturing operations.

  • Manage Kanban, pull systems, and supermarket inventory processes.

  • Partner with production leadership to ensure consistent material availability and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

  • Develop material replenishment routes and escalation processes for shortages.

Receiving, Shipping & Logistics
  • Lead receiving operations, including unloading, inspection coordination, system transactions, and discrepancy resolution.

  • Oversee outbound shipping activities, carrier coordination, packaging, documentation, and customer deliveries.

  • Monitor logistics performance, freight expenses, and transportation service levels.

  • Ensure compliance with shipping and quality requirements.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead and develop warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and material handling personnel.

  • Establish performance expectations and accountability through coaching and development.

  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Utilize Lean principles and operational metrics to drive efficiency and process improvements.

QualificationsRequired
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Materials, Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory, or Warehouse Management within a manufacturing environment.

  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing warehouse, inventory, logistics, or materials teams.

  • Experience supporting production operations through inventory control and material replenishment systems.

  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, logistics, and inventory management.

  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar certification.

  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience.

  • Experience with Kanban, supermarket replenishment, and pull systems.

  • Experience leading physical inventory and cycle count programs.

Pay Details: $51.00 to $62.50 per hour
