Sr. Accountant

Our client in Melville, NY is seeking a Senior Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can support key financial operations with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Analyze general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level role.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• CPA or public accounting experience is a plus.
