Forklift Operator
Job Description
This role focuses on safely operating a sit-down forklift to move, store, and distribute materials within a small manufacturing or warehouse environment. You will handle inventory, fulfill orders, and support production by ensuring materials are accurately stocked, tracked, and delivered to the correct locations using Epicor and related systems.
Responsibilities- Operate a sit-down forklift to move materials between departments and buildings in a safe and efficient manner.
- Store items in bins, on shelves, or on the floor, organizing them by style, size, or material type.
- Pull and fill orders using pull tickets or pick lists and deliver items to the appropriate areas.
- Keep accurate stock records and update inventory information in Epicor software.
- Mark items with identifying codes, numbers, or letters to ensure proper tracking and identification.
- Distribute stock and materials to production workers and record materials issued.
- Move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Perform routine forklift maintenance, including recharging batteries and basic checks to ensure safe operation.
- Process, schedule, and load vendor and customer shipments, including shipping and receiving tasks.
- Use RF scanners and basic computer systems to support inventory control, order picking, and packaging.
- Assist with packing, palletizing, unloading, and general material handling tasks throughout the shift.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 50+ pounds regularly during the workday.
- At least 1 year of experience operating a sit-down forklift.
- Proven experience with material handling in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently.
- Experience with order picking, shipping and receiving, and general warehouse operations.
- Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
- Experience with pallet jacks, loading, unloading, and packaging.
- Basic computer skills, including printing labels and entering data into systems.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ pounds throughout the workday.
- Comfort working in a loud, dirty environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Willingness to work mandatory overtime when needed.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate inventory tracking and order fulfillment.
- Experience using Epicor or similar inventory management systems is a plus.
- Previous experience in a small shop or small team environment.
- Comfort working in older buildings and an industrial campus setting.
- Ability to adapt to a growing organization and changing processes.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with production and warehouse teams.

Work EnvironmentThis is a 1st shift role, working Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with mandatory overtime when needed. You will work in a small shop with a small team on an older campus with older buildings. The environment is loud and dirty, with exposure to different temperatures, reflecting a typical industrial setting. You will regularly operate sit-down forklifts and other material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and use RF scanners and computer systems for inventory and order processing.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Evansville, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
