Job Description

The Electrical Engineer will support the design, development, and implementation of custom technical solutions for industrial and commercial customers within a growing, engineering-driven organization. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute throughout the full design and execution lifecycle. Entry-level and early-career candidates with a strong electrical engineering foundation are encouraged to apply, with significant mentorship and exposure to a wide range of engineering activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and detailed technical documentation for industrial and commercial projects.
  • Create and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD and other design software to support project requirements.
  • Support the development, integration, and implementation of electrical and control systems within customer-specific projects.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, manufacturing, and operations teams to achieve project objectives and milestones.
  • Apply industry standards, engineering principles, and applicable electrical codes to all design activities to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Participate in design reviews, provide technical input, and implement revisions based on feedback and evolving project needs.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges that arise during project execution, installation, and commissioning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing engineering processes, design quality, and product performance.
  • Engage in customer-focused activities as needed, helping translate requirements into practical electrical and control solutions.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing efforts to support team learning and long-term project success.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to develop electrical designs, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of electrical and control system integration within industrial and commercial environments.
  • Capability to apply relevant industry standards, engineering principles, and electrical codes to design work.
  • Effective collaboration skills to work with engineering, project management, manufacturing, and operations teams.
  • Problem-solving skills to assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during project execution.
  • Strong willingness to learn, take ownership of tasks, and build a long-term career in a technically challenging environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with 3D CAD platforms such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
  • Internship experience focused on electrical design and engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical design and system integration, particularly within industrial or commercial applications.
  • Exposure to the full project lifecycle, including design, CAD work, customer interaction, manufacturing support, and project execution.
  • Interest in working closely with experienced engineering leaders and receiving mentorship.
  • Ability to adapt to a growing engineering team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of South Bend, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
