Full Time - SPED Self-Contained

Elementary– Barrow County Schools, Georgia

Position Overview:

The class is a K-1 self contained classroom mostly with students with developmental delays. There are 4 kindergarteners and 5 1st graders. The class has two paras as well. The students are a mix of general and adapted curriculum so general and adapted curriculum certification works plus need to have the content areas as well.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations.
Provide behavioral interventions and positive behavior supports.
Collaborate with administrators, related service providers, families, and support staff.
Monitor student progress and maintain compliance documentation.
Differentiate instruction across multiple academic content areas.
Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Georgia Special Education Adapted Curriculum Certification.
Must be certified in all academic content areas (Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies)- please provide.
Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.
Experience writing and implementing IEPs.
Must have 3 conducted reference checks in order to schedule interview (one must be a recent supervisor - principal, AP, Coordinator, etc)
