Job Title: Production Associate

Job Description

The Production Associate operates plastic injection mold machines to manufacture connectors used in wire harnesses for tractor trailers. This role may also support quality checks on wire cuts using hand tools, requiring strong attention to detail in every task. The position supports increased production during the busy season and is structured as a contract role to help meet peak demand.

Responsibilities

  • Operate plastic injection molding machines safely and efficiently to produce connectors for wire harnesses used in tractor trailers.
  • Monitor machine operation, identifying and reporting any issues with equipment performance or product quality.
  • Perform basic adjustments and setups on machines as needed to maintain consistent production output.
  • Inspect produced parts visually and with basic measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Occasionally perform quality checks on wire cuts, ensuring precision and accuracy according to defined measurements.
  • Use hand tools to cut wire accurately and consistently when assigned to wire quality check tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following established safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Follow written and verbal work instructions, production schedules, and standard operating procedures.

  • Ability to use basic hand tools safely and accurately for cutting and handling materials.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and precise measurements.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Reliability and consistency in attendance to support production schedules.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift from approximately 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with plastic injection molding processes is an advantage.
  • Comfort working in a diverse, multilingual team environment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on quality.
  • Flexibility to support different areas of production, including quality checks, as needed.

Why Work Here?

You join a stable, long-standing operation where employees tend to build long tenures, reflecting a supportive and engaging workplace. The facility offers a comfortable break area to recharge during your shift, and you work alongside a multilingual workforce that fosters a diverse and inclusive culture. This contract opportunity allows you to gain valuable manufacturing experience in a well-established environment during a busy production season.

Work Environment

Pay Rate: $16/hr. You work in a large, climate-controlled shop environment that remains relatively quiet compared to many production facilities. The role takes place primarily on the 2nd shift, from approximately 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., during the peak season that is expected to extend through December and possibly into 2027, with no guarantee of conversion. The setting allows for some seated work depending on the specific task, while still requiring time on your feet to operate machinery and perform quality checks. The environment is structured, organized, and safety-focused, providing a comfortable and steady production atmosphere.
