What You will Do:
- Develop detailed inspection plans for aerospace components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, engineering specifications, and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to define the most appropriate inspection methods and criteria for new parts, assemblies, and systems
- Identify and select suitable inspection tools, techniques, and measurement equipment (Vernier, micrometer, radius optical, gaging, etc.)
- Establish acceptance criteria, and tolerances for aerospace products based on engineering drawings, material specifications, and industry standards
- Create and maintain detailed inspection reports, documentation, and records, ensuring that all inspection activities are traceable and compliant with regulatory requirements
- Develop inspection records that support traceability and certification, including first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections
- Ensure that all inspection processes adhere to aerospace industry standards, including AS9100D, AS9102C, FAA and DCMA regulations, and customer-specific requirements
- Support internal and external audits related to inspection processes and quality assurance systems
- Investigate and perform root cause analysis for any quality issues or inspection failures, using tools such as 5 Whys, PFMEA, and Fishbone diagrams
- Lead initiatives to improve inspection processes, reduce inspection times, and increase the accuracy and reliability of inspections
What You Will Bring:
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Understanding of inspection tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, radius gages, etc.)
- Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and propose corrective actions
- Good working knowledge of Quality Management System QMS, AS9100D, and AS9102C requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in GD&T
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
