1st Shift Press Operator
Job Description
This role involves operating a metal stamping press to manufacture structural components used in wood, steel, masonry, concrete, and composite wood construction. You interpret work orders and blueprints to produce high-quality parts, set up the press for each job, and handle loading and packing of finished products under the guidance of a supervisor.
Responsibilities- Operate a metal stamping press to produce parts according to work orders and blueprints.
- Set up the machine for each job, including configuring tooling and adjusting settings to meet specifications.
- Interpret and follow work orders and blueprints to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Load raw materials into the machine and monitor production to maintain consistent output.
- Pack finished parts efficiently and accurately, ensuring correct quantities and proper handling.
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to verify dimensions.
- Perform basic math calculations to confirm measurements and ensure parts meet tolerances.
- Work in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals and resolve issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- At least 1 year of experience operating a stamping press or CNC machines.
- At least 1 year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic math calculations.
- Experience with punch press operations.
- Experience working with sheet metal and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency using calipers to verify part dimensions.
- Ability and desire to run high-volume, fast-paced jobs.
- Experience operating a high-speed punch press is a plus.
- Experience working specifically with sheet metal in a production environment.
- Ability to use micrometers, height gauges, and calipers for precise measurement and inspection.

Work EnvironmentThis is a first-shift position in a clean manufacturing facility focused on structural components production. The standard schedule runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with additional hours on Friday and sometimes Saturday as production needs require. You work on metal stamping presses and may also interact with CNC equipment, handling sheet metal and fabricated parts. The environment is high-volume and fast-paced, requiring consistent attention to safety, quality, and productivity while working with standard precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
