In this position, you'll play a critical role in producing and packaging chemical products used in industrial and consumer applications. You'll work with modern equipment, follow production formulas and batch instructions, operate forklifts, and help keep operations running safely and efficiently. What You'll DoAs a Chemical Production Operator & Material Handler, you'll be involved in both production and material handling activities, including:
- Operate production equipment and semi-automated processes used in the manufacturing and packaging of chemical products.
- Follow batch sheets, formulas, and production instructions with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Weigh, measure, and blend ingredients according to established production requirements.
- Monitor production processes, gauges, and equipment to ensure products are manufactured safely and efficiently.
- Conduct inspections of equipment and work areas to identify potential issues and maintain safe operations.
- Operate sit-down forklifts to move raw materials, finished goods, totes, drums, and other containers throughout the facility.
- Use RF scanners and inventory systems to track materials and product movement.
- Apply labels and accurately document product information, production data, and inventory transactions.
- Assist with loading, staging, packaging, and general material handling activities.
- Communicate with supervisors, maintenance teams, quality personnel, and coworkers to support smooth production operations.
- Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

What We're Looking ForWe're seeking dependable individuals who enjoy working in a manufacturing environment and take pride in producing quality work.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, blending, batching, compounding, production, or related manufacturing environments.
- Previous sit-down forklift experience with the ability to maneuver safely in tight spaces.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow formulas, batch sheets, and written instructions precisely.
- Experience handling materials and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production equipment, valves, pumps, and related systems.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking, production reporting, and data entry.
- Experience with warehouse operations, inventory management, or RF scanners is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a safety-first mindset.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
