Job Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy machinery and production equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel systems and be committed to maintaining equipment safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and production machinery.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machine components according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel engine issues.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
  • Use diagnostic tools, laptops, gauges, and testing equipment to identify machine faults.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
  • Repair and maintain engines, power train systems, hydraulics, and related components.
  • Conduct diesel engine diagnostics and repairs.
  • Perform general automotive-style repairs on heavy equipment when required.
  • Complete welding repairs as needed (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and parts usage information.
  • Follow workplace safety standards and procedures at all times.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure efficient repair and maintenance operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience repairing heavy equipment, industrial machinery, or production equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine repair and diagnostics.
  • Experience using diagnostic software, testing equipment, and repair tools.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance programs and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Experience working with power train systems and heavy machinery hydraulics.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $56160.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
