Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up CNC mill and lathe machines to produce precision parts according to specifications.
  • Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam to support production needs.
  • Handle an average of 2 to 5 changeovers per day, efficiently managing short-run production.

  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining requirements and setup parameters.
  • Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimize downtime and improve process reliability.
  • Collaborate with a small team while also working independently to meet production goals.

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
  • Proficient computer and technical skills relevant to CNC programming and machine operation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for machining, programming, and changeover processes.
  • Capability to maintain tight tolerances of +/- .005 on machined parts.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience beyond basic machine operation, with demonstrated ability to set up machines and edit programs rather than only running pre-set programs.
  • Familiarity with short-run production environments involving frequent changeovers.
  • Comfort working independently within a small team on a union shop floor.
