Job Description

This role is ideal for an experienced stand-up forklift operator who enjoys working in a fast-paced shipping and receiving environment. The position requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset, with occasional support in general warehouse tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate stand-up forklifts safely and efficiently for the majority of the workday (approximately 80–95% of the time).
  • Move materials and pallets to and from assembly lines to ensure consistent production flow.
  • Remove finished products from assembly areas, prepare them for wrapping, and stage them for shipment.
  • Load and unload trucks in the shipping and receiving areas, ensuring materials are handled correctly and securely.
  • Use RF scanners to scan packages and materials for shipping and inventory purposes, maintaining accurate records.

  • Handle material using pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts as needed to support warehouse operations.
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, following all workplace and equipment safety procedures.
  • Support general warehouse duties such as breaking down boxes, cleaning assembly areas, and assisting in other departments when requested.
  • Work collaboratively as a team player, stepping in to help colleagues and other departments to meet production and shipping goals.
  • Adhere to scheduled shift hours and overtime requirements, including occasional Saturday overtime, while managing break times appropriately.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of stand-up forklift driving experience, with the ability to operate independently without training.
  • Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations, including handling incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Hands-on experience using RF scanners for scanning packages, tracking inventory, and processing shipments.
  • Strong material handling skills, including safely moving pallets and products in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts in addition to stand-up equipment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail when handling materials, scanning items, and verifying shipment information.
  • Consistent commitment to safety, following equipment operation guidelines and warehouse safety protocols.
  • Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with regular overtime until 5:00 p.m. and willingness to work Saturday overtime as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working on or around assembly lines and production floors.
  • Comfort working in a structured, organized, and temperature-controlled warehouse environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assist with non-forklift tasks such as cleaning and box breakdown.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to collaborate across departments.
  • Reliability and punctuality, with a track record of consistent attendance in similar roles.
