We are looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to support a dynamic food and food processing operation in Macedon, New York. This Long-term Contract position focuses on fostering a fair, compliant, and respectful workplace by addressing employee concerns, guiding managers on people matters, and helping resolve complex workplace issues. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, investigative experience, and practical knowledge of labor and employment practices to support a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough reviews of workplace concerns, gathering facts, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate next steps.
• Advise supervisors and leaders on employee relations matters, including corrective action, conflict resolution, and performance-related concerns.
• Interpret and apply company policies, labor practices, and local employment law to support consistent and compliant decision-making.
• Partner with HR and business leadership to address sensitive workforce issues while balancing employee needs and operational priorities.
• Manage employee relations casework from intake through resolution, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate records.
• Support performance management efforts by coaching leaders on documentation, feedback conversations, and action planning.
• Identify patterns in employee concerns and recommend proactive steps to improve workplace culture and reduce risk.• Proven experience in employee relations within a corporate, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Hands-on background leading employee relations investigations and handling sensitive workplace matters confidentially.
• Knowledge of labor employee relations principles and practical application of local employment law.
• Experience supporting performance management processes, including coaching managers on employee issues.
• Strong communication and interviewing skills with the ability to navigate difficult conversations professionally.
• Ability to assess complex situations, exercise sound judgment, and provide balanced recommendations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and maintain detailed documentation.
