Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our team. This role involves troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment such as overhead cranes, furnaces, generators, and lighting circuits. The position also requires swapping out and replacing 480 V AC/DC motors, troubleshooting circuit breakers and transformers, and working with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs. Additionally, you will interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure efficient operations.
Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting and preventive maintenance on industrial equipment including overhead cranes, furnaces, generators, and lighting circuits.
- Swap out and replace 480 V AC/DC motors.
- Troubleshoot circuit breakers and transformers.
- Troubleshoot and program Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
- Interpret and work from blueprints and schematics.
- 5+ years of electrical experience or possession of a Journeyman Card.
- Experience within the steel industry.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, specifically Allen Bradley and Siemens.
- Experience working with overhead cranes.
- Experience troubleshooting CNC equipment is a plus.

Work EnvironmentWork in a rotating shift environment with shifts running from 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am on a weekly rotation, following initial training on the first shift. The facility is an enclosed building that regulates temperature, offering a well-lit and relatively clean industrial environment. Although certain areas can be loud, the shop is one of the cleanest in NW Indiana. The maintenance team consists of three electricians, and the dress code includes uniform, metatarsals, ear plugs, hard hat, and safety glasses.
