CNC Operator / Drill Press Machinist (Will Train / 2nd Shift)

đź’° Pay, Shift & Training

  • Wage: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour (Higher starting pay for direct CNC drill press experience)
  • Training Shift: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Fully paid training for the first 1 to 3 months
  • Regular Shift: 2nd Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM | Permanent schedule after training
  • Location: Franklin Park, IL area (On-Site)
  • Education: No High School Diploma or GED required!
  • Environment: Small, stable 50-person shop with a supportive team of experienced machinists.

Want to break into CNC machining? We will train you! If you have 6+ months of experience running any CNC machine, we will teach you how to operate our CNC drill presses. Candidates who already possess direct CNC drill press experience will start at the top of the pay scale.

🎯 What You Will Do

Learn valuable manufacturing and specialized machining skills in a fast-paced job shop environment.

  • Machining: Set up, load, and operate CNC drill press equipment to process metal parts.
  • Tooling: Perform routine tool changes and execute basic machine adjustments.
  • Blueprints: Read and follow engineering blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Inspection: Inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, and specialized gauges.
  • Shop Work: Use hand and power tools to support various production and machining projects.

  • Experience Options: 6+ months of any CNC machine operation experience OR direct drill press, punch press, or press brake history.
  • Aptitude: Strong mechanical intelligence with a track record in manufacturing, production, automotive, or trades.
  • Tool Skills: Comfort using or learning precision measuring tools like calipers.
  • Mindset: Reliable attendance, sharp attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn a lifetime trade.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schiller Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
