Material Handler
Job Description
This role ensures the accurate and efficient flow of materials throughout the production cycle by verifying shipments, coordinating transportation, and maintaining precise inventory records. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and use ERP systems, RF scanners, and data entry tools to support smooth manufacturing operations while following established procedures and safety regulations.
Responsibilities- Verify and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Receive materials and products, inspect for accuracy and condition, and document all relevant information in the ERP system.
- Prepare, package, and ship materials and finished products according to company procedures and customer requirements.
- Coordinate transportation and logistics for materials and products to ensure on-time delivery.
- Plan, organize, and monitor the movement of materials through the entire production cycle.
- Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Production, and Engineering departments to align material availability with production needs.
- Determine material requirements based on production schedules and adjust plans as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and participate in asset tracking to maintain accurate stock records.
- Support purchasing activities by providing accurate inventory data and material usage information.
- Operate RF scanners and other material handling tools to track and update inventory in real time.
- Perform accurate data entry in the ERP system to record material movements, transactions, and adjustments.
- Follow all company procedures, safety regulations, and attendance requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle materials in a safe and efficient manner.
- Experience with receiving operations, including verifying and documenting incoming materials and shipments.
- Proficiency using an ERP system for inventory management, material tracking, and data entry.
- Ability to operate RF scanners to scan, track, and update material and product information.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments, including Purchasing, Production, and Engineering.
- Capability to plan and monitor the movement of materials through a production environment.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing setting with adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
- Must feel comfortable using an ERP system as part of daily responsibilities.
- Ability to interpret production schedules to determine material requirements.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple material handling tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to follow established processes and contribute to continuous improvement in material handling and inventory control.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a manufacturing environment within a plant setting. You will work under variable environmental conditions, including temperature instability and exposure to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or vapors. There may be exposure to solvents and other industrial chemicals, and you are expected to follow all safety protocols and use appropriate protective equipment as required. The role involves working around production equipment and materials, with an emphasis on safe handling, situational awareness, and adherence to plant procedures.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcminnville, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
