Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician with 5-10 years of experience in residential or commercial service. The ideal candidate must be able to troubleshoot basic systems, perform startups on HVAC systems, and ensure they function properly. A thorough knowledge of blueprints and building codes is essential, along with a willingness to assist with other trades as needed. An EPA Certification is required, and candidates must be able to pass an MVR check once they become permanent.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems in residential or commercial settings.
- Perform system startups and ensure proper functionality.
- Interpret and work from blueprints and building codes.
- Assist with other trades as required.
- Maintain compliance with EPA regulations.
- Engage in cross-training and perform additional tasks as needed.
- 5-10 years of experience in HVAC service.
- EPA Certification (open to type 1 or type 2).
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, installation, and repair of HVAC systems.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and building codes.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Experience in sheet metal, electrical, construction, plumbing, and ductwork.
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment, PVC, wiring, and conduit installation.

Work EnvironmentWork shifts from 7 am to 5 pm, with potential for 4-day, 10-hour workweeks depending on the project. Opportunities abound during the summer months. Work in a variety of conditions, including extreme heat and cold, both indoors and outdoors. Be prepared to stand, walk, and lift or carry up to 60 lbs throughout the workday. All work sites are within 1.5 hours of Roanoke, VA.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
