Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing a variety of parts and product inspections to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements. The role involves inspecting incoming outsourced parts, documenting inspection results, gathering data to create customer reports, and communicating any quality discrepancies to shop supervisors.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections to ISO standards.
- Document results of inspections using written and photographic methods.
- Gather and compile data to generate reports for customers.
- Communicate quality discrepancies to shop supervisors.
- Maintain material certifications and inspection documentation.
- Maintain calibration control for all IMTE inventory.
- Assist with the sub out process, including requesting purchase orders, tagging, and documenting counts.
- Label nonconforming parts.
- Read blueprints to ensure fabricated products meet specifications.
- Notify management of the need for Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
- Follow all safety procedures.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Competency in using basic measurement tools such as combination square, protractor, and caliper.
- Demonstrated competency in blueprint reading and use of precision measurement equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- An associate degree in Quality Control Technology or 3+ years of proven inspection experience in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience working as an inspector in a close tolerance, custom metal manufacturing business.
- Experience in a metal forming, machining, and/or welding environment is preferred.
- General machining and welding knowledge is a plus.
- Knowledge of metals and raw materials, along with an understanding of production processes, quality control, and costs of manufacturing is a plus.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Green Bay, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
