Job Description
- The Process Technician supports plastic extrusion and injection molding operations on by diagnosing and correcting production issues such as burns, splays, discolorations, and shorts
- This role focuses on adjusting temperatures, material flow, and cycle times across a variety of presses to ensure consistent part quality and efficient production
- You will work as part of a small, skilled team in a high-volume manufacturing environment and receive training on specific equipment if you bring a solid foundation in plastics processing
Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot plastic extrusion and injection molding processes to resolve issues such as burns, splays, shorts, and discolorations on parts
- Adjust machine temperatures, material flow, and cycle times to maintain consistent product quality and meet production requirements
- Operate and support multiple plastic extrusion lines and plastic injection presses ranging from approximately 400 to 1,500 tons
- Collaborate in 2-person teams within a 4-person shift crew to ensure smooth, continuous operation of all assigned equipment in the manufacturing plants
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of plastic injection processing experience
- At least 3 years of crane and Hilo (forklift) experience
- Hands-on experience with first-piece troubleshooting for burns, splays, shorts, and discoloration on plastic parts
- Strong knowledge of plastic processing principles, including temperature settings, material flow, and cycle time optimization
This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn Hills, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $58000.00/yr.
Direct Hire, benefits start 1st of the month following hire date
