Job Description
This role is ideal for an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys working in a dynamic, production-focused environment. As a Forklift Operator, you will handle material loading and receiving, maintain accurate inventory records, and transport materials to operators on the production floor using forklifts and pallet jacks. You will also perform inspections on inbound and outbound materials to support safe and efficient warehouse operations. First and second shift available.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently in a large warehouse and machine shop environment.
- Receive inbound materials, verify documentation, and ensure items are stored in the correct locations.
- Transport materials to operators on the production floor using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Maintain accurate inventory of materials, including tracking movement and updating inventory management systems.
- Perform inspections of inbound and outbound materials to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with requirements.
- Handle materials manually and with equipment, consistently lifting 50+ pounds as part of daily tasks.
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including staging materials for outgoing shipments.
- Operate warehouse equipment in a safe manner, following all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse team members to ensure timely delivery of materials to the production floor.
- Help keep the warehouse organized, clean, and free of safety hazards.
Essential Skills
- Previous experience working in a warehouse, shipper, and receiver role.
- Proficiency operating forklifts safely and effectively in a busy warehouse environment.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks confidently and efficiently.
- Ability to consistently lift and move materials weighing 50+ pounds.
- Comfort maintaining inventory and using inventory management systems to track materials.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting inbound and outbound materials.
- Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a large, open warehouse and machine shop setting.
- Reliability and commitment to following safety procedures at all times.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a production-focused warehouse environment.
- Comfort working around manufacturing equipment and in proximity to a busy production floor.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to meet daily material handling goals.
- Willingness to cross-train in other warehouse or production support functions.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate material flow with production operators and warehouse colleagues.

Work Environment
You will work in a large, open warehouse and machine shop equipped with air conditioning for comfort. The environment includes a busy first shift production team of around 70 people, creating an active and fast-paced atmosphere. You may have some exposure to the outdoors while loading and unloading trucks. The role involves regular use of forklifts, pallet jacks, and inventory management systems, and requires attire suitable for a warehouse setting and manual material handling.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Biddeford, ME.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
