Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring the proper operation of all equipment.
Responsibilities- Achieve allocated work priorities to minimize production downtime.
- Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing equipment.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using the proper tools, and inspecting parts for wear, replacing or reinstalling new parts, and testing equipment for proper operation.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
- Fabricate repair parts using maintenance shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies, and informing the supervisor of required items.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job functions.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing personal needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in industrial maintenance.
- Knowledge of hand tools and multi-meter.
- Mechanical knowledge of pumps, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot single and three phase power.
- Experience with plastics (Injection, Extrusion, Thermoforming, Blow molding, etc.).
- Allen Bradley PLC experience is a plus.
- Skills in mechanic, hydraulic, pneumatic, machinery replacement and installation, troubleshooting, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, PLC troubleshooting, mechanical, electrical, welding, fabrication, and facilities maintenance.

Work EnvironmentWork in a large manufacturing environment with older machines, extruders, conveyors, and mixers. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, and safety glasses are required. The role involves a 12-hour shift with openings on both days and nights: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The schedule rotates with four people per shift, providing a balanced work-life routine.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pineville, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
