Job Description
The Assembler fabricates and assembles a variety of production assemblies and supporting hardware, applying solid knowledge of assembly techniques while using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and related equipment. This role reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and technical documentation to determine the appropriate methods, sequence of operations, and dimensional and finish specifications. The Assembler also assumes responsibility for maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring that all products meet customer and internal quality standards.
Responsibilities- Assemble and calibrate production parts in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
- Locate and interpret assembly drawings, ATPs, specifications, and work instructions to understand all requirements for each job.
- Complete all required documentation, including travelers, pull sheets, and forms for shipments, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Lift and handle materials and test manifolds, typically up to at least 30 pounds, following safe material-handling practices.
- Mix ingredients, primers, adhesives, and sealants according to specified formulas and process requirements.
- Trim, drill, ream, grind, sand, and finish parts using templates, hand tools, and power tools as required to meet dimensional and finish specifications.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and requirements, including shipping details and documentation.
- Support achievement of quality, on-time-in-full (OTIF) delivery, and cost targets for the production area.
- Use E10 transactions and job-related dashboards, including part and job trackers, to manage work and monitor progress.
- Assemble multiple products within a cell or across multiple lines, as demonstrated by completion of required training.
- Inspect all final products to verify compliance with customer requirements, including dimensional, cosmetic, and shipping specifications.
- Assist the team in evaluating trends in labor standards, costs, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Complete all required training and remain current on job-related skills, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Adhere to corporate EHS policies and all department-, occupation-, and task-specific safety protocols, including appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
- 1–2 years of manufacturing assembly experience required; 3+ years preferred, ideally in a regulated industry such as aerospace.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, including experience with mechanical assembly and assembly line operations.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for trimming, drilling, reaming, grinding, sanding, and finishing parts.
- Ability to meet deadlines, plan work effectively, and manage multiple tasks within a production environment.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to work with production systems, dashboards, and transactions such as E10.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
- Goal-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency.
- Experience supporting or participating in Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing activities.
- Ability to perform manual lifting activities, including lifting up to 40 pounds individually, and to use stairs and reposition the body as required by various tasks.
- Willingness to submit to and satisfactorily pass any required pre-employment screening.
- Willingness to complete medical examinations required by law in relation to occupation-specific activities and the physical work environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment, such as aerospace production, is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with production documentation, including travelers, pull sheets, and shipping forms.
- Comfort working with adhesives, primers, sealants, and other production materials in accordance with specifications.
- Ability to support evaluation of labor standards, costs, and process improvements to enhance operational performance.
- Capability to assemble multiple product types across different cells or lines, adapting to changing production needs.
- Understanding of corporate EHS policies and commitment to following safety protocols and using PPE as required.
- Ability to remain upright or seated for prolonged periods and to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and skill development initiatives.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing production environment that involves mechanical assembly work using hand and power tools, precision instruments, and various machines and equipment. Work is performed on the 1st shift, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Fridays. The position may require standing or sitting for extended periods, using stairs, and intermittently repositioning the body to perform different tasks. Manual lifting of materials up to 40 pounds may be required. Employees follow established EHS policies and task-specific safety protocols, including the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), while working around production materials such as adhesives, primers, sealants, and mechanical components in a structured, process-driven environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
