This role focuses on performing both electrical and mechanical maintenance on a wide range of high-speed production equipment. You will troubleshoot and repair complex systems, including PLCs, robotics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated machinery, while also completing routine preventive maintenance and accurately documenting all work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on a variety of production equipment, including industrial sewing machines, presses, conveying systems, compressing and rolling machines, foam cutters, and other automated production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, PLC, robotic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Diagnose equipment issues using schematics, technical documentation, and established troubleshooting methods.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance (PMs) on production equipment to ensure reliable and safe operation.
- Log all maintenance activities, including repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance, in the CMMS accurately and in a timely manner.
- Inspect machines and systems with many small parts, identifying worn, damaged, or misaligned components and performing necessary adjustments or replacements.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and maintenance, including identifying faults in wiring, components, and control systems.
- Perform mechanical maintenance, including lubrication, alignment, and replacement of mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and respond quickly to urgent maintenance needs.
- Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending long-term solutions.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of maintenance experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with both electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment.
- Proficiency in performing preventive maintenance (PMs) on industrial machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic understanding of control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical troubleshooting and electrical maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical maintenance on complex machinery with many small parts.
- Familiarity with using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to log maintenance activities.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-speed manufacturing environment and manage multiple maintenance tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with automation systems maintenance.
- Experience with robotic maintenance.
- Prior exposure to maintaining a variety of automated production machines.
- Comfort working on equipment with intricate and small mechanical components.
- Willingness to work second shift and occasional Saturdays based on maintenance needs.

Work Environment
This position is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility, providing a comfortable and consistent working temperature throughout the year. The role is on second shift, typically starting at 4:00 p.m., with end times varying between approximately 11:30 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required depending on maintenance needs. You will work around high-speed production equipment, automated machinery, and advanced technologies such as PLCs and robotic systems, following standard industrial safety practices and procedures.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
