Machine Operator
Job Description
As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in our production team by operating and maintaining production and packaging equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures. Your collaboration with team members, maintenance staff, and quality assurance will be key to meeting production goals and supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts.
Responsibilities- Operate production and packaging equipment according to SOPs.
- Collaborate with team members, maintenance, quality, and supervision to achieve production goals.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust machinery to ensure consistent product quality and efficiency.
- Assist with changeovers, minor troubleshooting, and routine equipment cleaning.
- Identify and report equipment issues, product defects, or safety concerns to leadership.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area before, during, and after production runs.
- Perform routine quality checks and document results accurately.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Complete required production, downtime, safety, and sanitation documentation.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Experience in machine operation and production.
- Mechanically inclined with a minimum of 6 months experience.
- Ability to perform changeovers and troubleshoot mechanical machinery issues.
- Experience in food, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb boxes/ingredients.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Basic math, reading, and documentation skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn production equipment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
- Strong accountability and safety-focused mindset.
- Dependable, punctual, and adaptable to changing production needs.
- Ownership mindset with the ability to take on tasks and present concerns and updates to management.

Work EnvironmentWork on a day shift from 6:30am to 6:50pm following an AWS Schedule 2-2-3. Operate in a cGMP environment with lab coats, hair nets, shoe sanitizing, and regular hand washing procedures. Jewelry and facial piercings are not allowed, and attire includes pants covering ankles and shirts with sleeves. The company provides steel-toed shoes. The culture emphasizes continuous improvement with engineers onsite to enhance processes. Team sizes range from 5-6 people per line, with up to 7 different lines on one shift, offering opportunities for both independent and group-oriented work.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Affton, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
