Job Description

The Maintenance Technician ensures the reliable operation and upkeep of injection molding equipment and facility systems, including Toyo and Arburg injection molding presses and associated robotics. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to minimize equipment downtime and support smooth production across both medical clean room and automotive manufacturing areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all facility equipment, including Toyo and Arburg injection molding presses, robotics, and supporting systems.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, HVAC, and PLC-related issues to keep equipment running efficiently.
  • Maintain and update accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation for all equipment and service activities.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments and machine operators to coordinate maintenance activities and respond to equipment issues.
  • Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential problems and take corrective action before failures occur.
  • Support quality standards by ensuring equipment operates within specified parameters for both medical clean room and automotive production areas.
  • Work to minimize equipment downtime and failures by quickly identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
  • Follow established preventive maintenance programs and continuously look for opportunities to improve maintenance processes.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and best practices while working on mechanical, electrical, and facility systems.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Hands-on experience performing consistent preventive maintenance tasks in a production environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Experience with inspection and quality-focused maintenance practices.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Comfort working with plastics manufacturing and injection molding equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with machine operators and cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Toyo and Arburg injection molding presses is a plus.
  • Experience in maintaining robotics and automation equipment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with medical clean room and automotive production environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple maintenance tasks and priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in equipment reliability and maintenance processes.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean injection molding facility that includes a medical clean room area and an automotive production area. The Maintenance Technician will support a clean quality department and will regularly walk the production floor to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs. The standard schedule is first shift, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Work involves interacting with injection molding presses, robotics, and various facility systems in a well-organized manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $68640.00/yr.
