Job Description

This role involves setting up and operating food production machinery, including fillers and packaging equipment, to support high-speed manufacturing in a GMP-regulated facility. The Machine Operator monitors equipment performance, performs troubleshooting and adjustments during production, and ensures that products meet quality and safety standards through regular inspections and sanitation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate food production equipment such as mixers, fillers, presses, and packaging machines.
  • Monitor equipment during production and make adjustments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues to reduce downtime.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas after production.
  • Complete equipment changeovers and prepare lines for the next run.
  • Perform quality checks, including temperature and product consistency checks.
  • Record inspection results and report any issues.
  • Follow all safety, GMP, and company procedures.
  • Work 2nd shift and help meet production goals.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of high-speed or food machine operating experience.
  • At least 1 year of troubleshooting experience on production or manufacturing equipment.
  • At least 1 year of inspection experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience operating fillers, packaging machinery, mixers, or press equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow production work orders and standard operating procedures.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to make basic mechanical adjustments to production equipment.
  • Attention to detail when performing temperature checks, consistency checks, and other quality inspections.
  • Ability to follow GMP requirements and sanitation procedures in a food production facility.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in food production environments, particularly with fillers and packaging lines.
  • Experience as a machine operator, production operator, mixer operator, or press operator.
  • Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting mechanical issues on food production equipment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a GMP-regulated food production facility that manufactures mustard and vinegar products, resulting in a work area that consistently smells like mustard. The role is assigned to the mustard production area on 2nd shift, with typical hours from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. Machine operators work with fillers, mixers, presses, and packaging machinery in a structured, process-driven environment that emphasizes cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to food safety standards. Employees are expected to follow all facility rules, GMP requirements, and safety guidelines while working around production equipment and food ingredients.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
