Job Title: Manufacturing Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and inspecting products in a clean industrial facility, using detailed work instructions, engineering drawings, and a variety of hand and power tools. You will support multiple functions within the shop area, including assembly, sub-assembly, trimming, parts washing, and material handling, and you will receive cross-training to perform a wide range of tasks. The position is primarily on second shift, with initial training conducted on first shift.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products and components in accordance with work instructions, work orders, sketches, engineering drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Inspect incoming materials and completed assemblies to verify compliance with all manufacturing and quality specifications.
  • Set up and operate hydraulic presses and hand presses safely and efficiently.
  • Use various hand tools and power tools, including pneumatic torque wrenches, screwdrivers, electric drills, taps, and glues for assembling, wiring, cleaning, rustproofing, and handling filters and components.
  • Perform final inspection of assemblies and products to ensure quality standards are fully met.
  • Work in other assembly support functions such as washing, testing, trimming, and other tasks within the department as needed.
  • Utilize the company-wide computer system to check stock levels, access engineering drawings, review work order status, and complete manufacturing-related transactions.
  • Disassemble filters returned for credit, following established procedures.
  • Support various shop functions including assembly, sub-assembly, rotomold trimming and assembly, parts washing, and material handling.
  • Multi-task across different workstations and processes as production needs change.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet production and quality goals.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as directed.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in mechanical assembly or production assembly using work instructions, work orders, sketches, and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to set up and operate hydraulic presses and hand presses.
  • Proficiency using basic hand tools and power tools such as pneumatic torque wrenches, screwdrivers, electric drills, taps, and related equipment.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles sufficient to perform assembly and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Ability to inspect materials and finished products for compliance with manufacturing and quality specifications.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues in the assembly process.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
  • Capability to use a computer system to look up stock, access engineering drawings, and process work orders and manufacturing transactions.
  • Ability to multi-task and shift between different job tasks and workstations as needed.
  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision and also contribute effectively in a team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a clean industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge in mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, or related technical work.
  • Familiarity with filters, rotomold trimming, and component handling in a production setting.
  • Comfort with cross-functional work and willingness to participate in ongoing cross-training.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.
  • Reliability and punctuality in a shift-based production environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean industrial facility with a focus on safety, organization, and quality. You will work with hydraulic presses, hand presses, a variety of hand tools and power tools, and a company-wide computer system to support manufacturing operations. The opening is for second shift, with training conducted on first shift for several months. Typical first-shift training hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., after which you transition to the designated second-shift schedule. The environment requires appropriate industrial attire suitable for working around machinery and production equipment.

The pay range for this position is $40456.00 - $40456.00/yr.
