Job Description
- This role supports a refrigerated food and beverage production facility by providing hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance, with a strong emphasis on electrical troubleshooting
- You will diagnose and repair production equipment working closely with remote controls engineers while serving as the first line of on-site troubleshooting
Job Responsibilities
- Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting on production equipment, including low-voltage systems (110V/24V), sensors, proximity switches, and three-phase motors
- Use a voltmeter to safely test, diagnose, and verify electrical circuits and components, identifying the root cause of equipment issues
- Connect a laptop to PLCs to perform basic PLC troubleshooting and locate faulty sensors using Siemens, Rockwell, or comparable systems
- Serve as the first point of on-site issue identification before involving remote controls engineers, clearly communicating findings and supporting further diagnostics
- Conduct mechanical troubleshooting and repair on conveyors, including motors, valves, hoses, and related components
- Maintain and repair industrial equipment such as filling machines and mixers that operate on pneumatics and hydraulics, including work on valves and hoses as needed
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on machines and equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and extend asset life
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical diagrams to support accurate repairs and installations
Essential Skills
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including the ability to use a voltmeter for low-voltage troubleshooting at 110V and 24V
- Ability to diagnose and repair low-voltage sensors, proximity switches, and three-phase motors
- Basic PLC troubleshooting skills, including connecting a laptop to identify faulty sensors using Siemens, Rockwell, or similar PLC platforms
- Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting experience with conveyors, including motors, valves, and hoses
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings
- Experience with industrial maintenance, including machine repair and machine maintenance in a production environment
This is a Permanent position based out of Ferndale, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $34.00/hr.
