Machine Operator
Job Description
The Machine Operator prepares and stages composite materials for the production of carbon fiber parts and operates manufacturing equipment and tools safely and efficiently. This role performs layup, trimming, finishing, inspection, and packaging tasks while following detailed work instructions, specifications, and quality standards. The Machine Operator inspects products for quality, reports any issues to leadership, completes production and material documentation accurately, and supports inventory, preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and stage composite materials to support the production of carbon fiber parts.
- Operate manufacturing equipment and tools safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform layup operations to build composite parts according to specifications.
- Carry out trimming and finishing tasks to ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic requirements.
- Inspect products throughout the production process to verify quality and compliance with standards.
- Report any product or process issues to leadership in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform packaging tasks to protect finished parts and prepare them for shipment or further processing.
- Follow all work instructions, specifications, and quality standards consistently.
- Complete production and material documentation accurately and on time.
- Support inventory activities, including handling materials and components as needed.
- Participate in preventative maintenance efforts to keep equipment in proper working condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to housekeeping standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by following best practices and suggesting process enhancements.
- Use hand tools and other basic equipment appropriately during production tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production goals and timelines.
- Ability to operate manufacturing equipment and machines safely and efficiently.
- Experience with general production or manufacturing tasks.
- Capability to perform general labor duties in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in using hand tools for layup, trimming, finishing, and packaging tasks.
- Attention to detail when following work instructions, specifications, and quality standards.
- Ability to inspect products for quality and identify issues accurately.
- Basic documentation skills to complete production and material records correctly.
- Reliable and steady work history demonstrating consistency and dependability.
- Entry-level candidates are welcome; production experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in machine operating or general production roles is an advantage.
- Comfort working with composite materials and carbon fiber parts is beneficial.
- Ability to support inventory, preventative maintenance, housekeeping, and continuous improvement activities.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn new processes and equipment.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manhattan, MT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
