Maintenance Welder
Job Description
This role focuses on welding and fabricating a variety of production and maintenance parts used in generators, valves, ovens, dishwashers, and automotive components. You will primarily perform MIG welding on 16-gauge materials, ensuring strong, precise welds that meet quality and blueprint specifications while working in a clean, friendly, and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG welding (.032–.035 wire) on 16-gauge materials for a wide range of parts, including components used in generators, valves, ovens, dishwashers, and automotive vehicles.
- Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to fabricate and weld parts to exact specifications.
- Use fabrication equipment and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble metal components as required.
- Work with materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass, ensuring proper weld techniques for each material.
- Measure and inspect parts using calipers, height gauges, and other precision tools to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all shop standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on welds and fabricated parts, making adjustments to improve fit, finish, and structural integrity.
- Support maintenance and production needs by welding and fabricating replacement or custom parts as required.
- 1–2+ years of MIG welding experience, including MIG aluminum work.
- Proficiency in MIG welding with .032–.035 wire on 16-gauge material.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with stainless steel welding and fabrication.
- Skill in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and height gauges.
- Hands-on experience working with metals including copper, brass, and aluminum.
- TIG welding experience with aluminum is a strong plus.
- Experience operating fabrication equipment is highly desirable.
- Background in general fabrication, including cutting, forming, and assembling metal parts.
- Comfort working with a variety of metals such as copper, brass, aluminum, and stainless steel.

Work EnvironmentThis position is on 2nd shift, typically running from 2:20 p.m. to 10:20 p.m. The facility is clean, relaxed, and friendly, providing a comfortable setting for focused welding and fabrication work. You will use standard welding and fabrication equipment along with precision measuring tools such as calipers and height gauges, working with materials including stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass. The atmosphere supports steady, quality-focused work while encouraging teamwork and open communication.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $26.00/hr.
