Job Title: Stand-Up Forklift Operator / Order Selector

Job Description

The Stand-Up Forklift Operator / Order Selector plays a key role in warehouse operations by accurately picking, receiving, storing, and maintaining products in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment. You use a Warehouse Management System (WMS), RF scan guns, and mobile devices to manage inventory, build orders, and support packaging and production teams, while consistently following safety and food manufacturing guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a stand-up forklift safely to move, stage, and store materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage inventory and ensure accurate, real-time tracking of products.
  • Pick products and build orders accurately and efficiently according to production and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with packaging and production teams to provide materials needed for production in a timely manner.
  • Perform weekly cycle counts of inventory using mobile scan devices and RF scan guns.
  • Document and report any discrepancies found within the inventory system to maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Label, pick, and pack products in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform general labor tasks in the warehouse as needed to support overall operations.
  • Follow strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and all company safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Work productively in a 40-degree refrigerated environment for the full duration of the shift.

Essential Skills

  • Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage and track inventory.
  • Proficiency with RF scanners and mobile scan devices for picking and inventory control.
  • Ability to operate a stand-up forklift safely in a busy warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in order picking and building accurate orders.
  • Ability to use computers to access and update WMS and related warehouse systems.
  • Warehouse production or warehouse inventory activities.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working full shifts in a refrigerated environment at approximately 40 degrees.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with picking, packing, and labeling in a warehouse or food manufacturing setting.
  • Previous exposure to general labor roles within warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a food production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail when handling inventory and documenting discrepancies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with production, packaging, and warehouse team members.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness.

Work Environment

This is an overnight Warehouse associate with stand-up forklift experience. Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30pm – 9:00am (with the four-hour incentive). In a refrigerated warehouse environment maintained at around 40 degrees. The facility operates as a food manufacturer and follows strict Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, including specific hygiene and cleanliness standards. The dress code requires compliance with GMP rules, which include no jewelry and no make-up while in production areas. You work on your feet, using stand-up forklifts, RF scan guns, and computer-based WMS tools throughout the shift in a structured, safety-focused setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Piscataway, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
