About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Vehicle Technician to support the design, assembly, testing, and validation of custom hardware systems used for vehicle and software development. This role sits between a traditional technician and an engineer, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, electronics, wiring, and custom builds.
The team builds test benches, wiring harnesses, and rack-mounted hardware systems from the ground up. Ideal candidates are naturally curious, enjoy building things, and take pride in creating clean, organized electrical and mechanical systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- 1+ year of hands-on experience as an Electrical Technician, Electronics Technician, Vehicle Technician, or similar role OR relevant technical/trade school training
- Experience building, troubleshooting, or testing wiring harnesses
- Understanding of electrical fundamentals including:
- Power & Ground
- Voltage & Continuity
- Ohm's Law
- Multimeter Usage
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, or technical drawings
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Automotive, EV, motorsports, robotics, aerospace, hardware lab, or prototype build experience
- Personal vehicle projects, fabrication work, racing, engine swaps, restorations, or automotive enthusiast experience
- Experience with wiring harness design or harness diagrams
- Familiarity with CAN Bus and Ethernet communication protocols
- Basic Linux command line experience
- Experience working with electronics, PCB assemblies, hardware validation, or test equipment
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble custom wiring harnesses and electrical systems from engineering diagrams
- Support the design and integration of hardware modules, test benches, and rack-based systems
- Create, modify, and maintain harness diagrams and documentation
- Install and route wiring while maintaining clean, organized, and serviceable builds
- Perform electrical testing, validation, and troubleshooting using multimeters and diagnostic equipment
- Work with CAN and Ethernet-based communication systems
- Utilize basic Linux shell commands to validate and test hardware modules
- Convert engineering designs and schematics into functional, testable hardware builds
- Collaborate with engineering teams to support vehicle development and software validation efforts
