Job Description

The HVAC Service Technician installs HVAC filters on commercial and industrial units while delivering professional, customer-focused service. This role includes performing visual inspections of equipment, documenting filter changes and dates, completing required paperwork, and ensuring proper care and accountability of all tools. The position involves regular outdoor work and tasks performed at heights.

Responsibilities

  • Install HVAC filters on a variety of commercial and industrial HVAC units according to established procedures and safety standards.
  • Perform thorough visual inspections of HVAC equipment during each service visit to identify potential issues or maintenance needs.
  • Accurately document filter changes, including dates and other required service details, and complete all associated paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Provide quality customer service by communicating clearly, answering questions, and representing the company professionally on-site.
  • Use hand tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete installations and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accountability for all tools, ensuring they are properly used, stored, and returned after each job.
  • Work safely on ladders and at heights, following all safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Perform general labor tasks associated with HVAC service work, including lifting, carrying, and positioning materials and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot basic issues encountered during service calls and escalate more complex problems as needed.
  • Travel to assigned job sites as required, adhering to schedule and route plans.
  • Follow all work orders, instructions, and documentation requirements to ensure accurate service records.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support efficient completion of jobs and continuous improvement of service processes.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with HVAC maintenance, including installing filters and performing basic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work safely and comfortably outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Capability to work at heights and climb ladders as part of daily job duties.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds as needed for tools, materials, and equipment handling.
  • Proficiency using hand tools for installation and general labor tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.
  • Strong attention to detail for visual inspections and accurate documentation.
  • Reliability and accountability in managing tools and completing assigned work.
  • Customer service skills to interact professionally with clients at commercial and industrial facilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience performing service calls in commercial or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with general HVAC systems and basic troubleshooting methods.
  • Comfort working extended hours, including overtime, when required.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions consistently.
  • Interest in developing skills toward a lead technician role through on-the-job training.

Work Environment

The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Saturday, with a 6:00 a.m. start time and frequent opportunities for approximately 10 hours of overtime per week. Work is hands-on and physically active, requiring the use of ladders, hand tools, and other equipment in a variety of facility conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.50/hr.
