Job Description
This role focuses on MIG welding and fabrication of structural steel components in a fabrication and sheet metal environment. You will interpret blueprints, perform precise welds, and complete light machine operation and assembly tasks to support production needs.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG welding on structural steel components according to project specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints to complete accurate fabrication and layout of steel.
- Carry out fabrication tasks, including cutting, fitting, and assembling steel parts.
- Operate light machinery and equipment as needed to support welding and fabrication work.
- Assemble parts and components to meet production and quality requirements.
- Grind and clean welds to ensure a smooth, finished appearance and proper weld integrity.
- Conduct visual inspections and basic testing of welds to verify quality and adherence to standards.
- Use measuring tapes and other measuring tools to ensure accurate dimensions and layouts.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- At least 6 months of experience performing MIG welding.
- At least 6 months of experience with fabrication and layout of steel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and follow them accurately.
- Proficiency in reading and using a measuring tape for precise measurements.
- Experience with structural steel welding and fabrication.
- Ability to perform grinding and cleaning of welds.
- Capability to conduct visual inspection and basic testing of welds.
- Comfort with light machine operation and assembly tasks in a fabrication environment.
- Experience working in a fabrication or sheet metal fabrication environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while following established processes.
- Willingness to work different shifts as required by production needs.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a fabrication and sheet metal fabrication facility focused on structural steel work. You will work around welding equipment, grinders, and light machinery in a production setting. Standard first shift runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with current operations running from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM for the foreseeable future. There is also a second shift option, with core hours from 3:00 PM to 2:30 AM and a shorter shift on Friday from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The environment is industrial, with typical fabrication shop conditions, and requires appropriate workwear and protective equipment suitable for welding and metal fabrication activities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $57200.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
